Location: Ashby-de-la-Zouch, UK
Based at the centre of our work, Project Executives are go-getting ninjas that support the hands-on planning, organising and delivery of our events, creating a seamless delegate experience from the initial invitation through to the final feedback form. The role involves pre-event administrative tasks (such as liaising with international delegates), communicating with venues and suppliers, and – the best bit – being on-site with the rest of your team to make sure our events are delivered with precision and aplomb.
We utilise a number of registration systems to manage travel and accommodation requirements, and work closely with colleagues to source dinner venues, devise staging solutions and design event collateral. We also partner with global DMCs and preferred suppliers to ensure our events are delivered without a hitch wherever in the world they take place (last year we managed over 2,500 meetings in 50 countries).
To be successful in this role, you need to be able to multitask, communicate confidently and clearly, and demonstrate sound organisational skills with a fastidious attention to detail. If you like foreign chocolate, checking lists, defying suitcase capacities and achieving a harmonious zen-like state through order, planning and process, this is the job for you.
Some knowledge of domestic and international destinations – such as knowing your Aarhus from your El Paso – would be advantageous (but is by no means essential) and you’ll also need to know your way around the Microsoft Office suite with a reasonable amount of dexterity.
Unsure of what a DMC is? Never heard of Aarhus? Scared of being thrown in at the deep end? Don’t worry, no previous experience is necessary for this role. With our support and an award-winning training programme, you will learn many new skills and be fluent in industry jargon before you know it. We don’t have a swimming or diving club yet, but there’s always some sort of physical endeavour happening, whether it’s running, yoga, rounders or five-a-side football. For those less inclined to exhausting periods of hyper-mobility we also engage in community projects, run initiatives like virtual reality week, embrace hygge (and stroking chinchillas), help our staff learn foreign languages, hold regular supplier networking days (and an annual event called The Lab) and encourage the production (and sharing) of aesthetically-astute baked goods.
So, if you would like to create a solid base of invaluable experience to build your future career on and like the cut of our proverbial jib, download this editable application form and send it (along with your CV) to Helen Capelin.
This role is based at our European headquarters in the picturesque market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, close to Nottingham, Leicester and Derby and easily accessible from the M1.
